LET THERE BE LIGHT- thoughts from the Queen
As a child I used to have the same dream occurring again and again, I was on a bridge and about ¾ the way over it, it caved in and my car plunged into the depths of the water that was a LONG WAY DOWN. Because of this dream for a long time I had a real fear when going over a bridge. I think this kept coming back to me because I never felt adequate as a swimmer. I am one of those that can swim ONLY IF MY HEAD IS OUT OF THE WATER and no one comes near me. Graceful? Well, that’s debatable, but it can get me where I want to go. Eventually the dream stopped taking up a large portion of my sleeping time, and I gradually began to trust the strong sturdy bridges that sprawl across the rivers and creeks in our country.
It is a good thing because I eventually wound up in a town that requires me to cross the bridge GOING and COMING every single day.
The Mighty MISSISSIPPI bridge stretches across the water to connect the state of MS and LA. Just looks like a lot of steel until you begin to observe the beauty all around it.

It has been one of the most photographed bridges of all times as people love to capture the sunrise

And the beautiful sunsets.

For many years, coming across the bridge at night was sorta scary with just a few lights overhead beaming down while your headlights spread out the path ahead.
Recently the MS. Department of transportation has finished a huge project that makes everyone one stand in awe gazing at the illuminated steel that is visible for many miles.

there is no doubt now THERE IS LIGHT!!!!

Isn’t it interesting that someone who has generally had such a fear of water now crosses it almost everyday and when I am at home, WATER is the view that we see from the bedrooms, living room and porch of our home.
And it is also interesting to know that I now find gazing at the water for hours is like therapy. It is soothing to the soul, calming to the spirit and when the sun comes up on the lake, it is a reminder everyday that OUR GOD created such beauty for us to see and enjoy.
Our oldest son got up early one morning to be able to capture the sunrise on the lake
In a matter of minutes the light from the sun filled the skies and the morning light surrounded the sun with beautiful colors.
That night the moon also put on a show for us. It is such a blessing to be surrounded by the things that whisper and shout, GOD IS STILL HERE. LET THERE BE LIGHT, DAY AND NIGHT!!
Those beautiful pictures make me miss HOME!
