SALAD ANYONE??? (the Queen)
We were in town- in the big city for the day and decided to have lunch before returning to our beloved lake. Not being very hungry, we thought, well, a nice salad would be the choice of the day.
While sitting there enjoying the fresh luscious healthy green salad my attention was drawn outside the window of the restaurant where cars were driving rapidly toward their destinations on the bypass which wraps around the old historic city. The bypass is not the only thing that runs around and thru the city, creeks are plentiful and many of the streets in town follow a bayou and the natural bend in the river or creek. Looking out the window I noticed the overgrown banks outside which were covered with the green of the summer. Well, actually, they were CONSUMED with what is called KUTZU.

Many Yankees and other foreigners may not know what a "Kudzu Patch" is, so I figured we'd better do something about that and explain what we deal with all around the cities, streets and towns in the south.
Kudzu is a vine, Y'all. It's no ordinary vine though. It grows about two feet per day and on a still summer night I am sure that you can hear it growing.
Kudzu will make Chia Pets out of trees, fences, telephone poles, pickup trucks, houses and entire forests quicker than a Mississippi Sheriff can say, "oh no, Bubba passed out drunk and the kudzu got him!".
Warning: When visiting the South, it's generally a good idea to get the “young-uns” inside before dusk and make sure all of the windows and doors are tightly closed.
When left alone, it will cover any and everything.
Examples following are:
TELEPHONE POLES

BRIDGES

And even CARS if they are still long enough

This unusual growth not only occurs where Queen lives but this is a picture taken in the REALLY BIG CITY where TWO lives.

The thing that was floating thru my mind as I gazed out the window at the kutzu----
What if??? WHAT IF????
Just WHAT IF???? They included Kutzu in my otherwise delicious salad ????
Restaurants are all trying to survive and who knows but what they would take some short cuts to help $$$$. Travel and tourism have not been drawing in the crowds to our fair city which is very dependent on this for the survival of many motels, hotels and businesses.
Yes, I looked down at my salad

And my critical eye decided that some of this DID RESEMBLE KUTZU
I think I have just discovered a way to PUSH AWAY FROM THE TABLE.
Just picture KUTZU on top of all of your food and then imagine what it will be doing inside of your body. Heaven protect us!!! do you think it will grow out of my ears?
KUTZU is on the move again.
Gir the kudzu on the telephone pole looks like Harry Potter!
